馃挧 Water Intake Calculator

Water bottle sizes, without the guesswork.

A 500 ml bottle holds about 16.91 US fl oz. A 32 US fl oz bottle holds about 946 ml鈥攕lightly less than a liter. Check capacity first, then the bottle鈥檚 dimensions and how often you can refill.

Which size fits your day?

Capacity is not the same as bottle dimensions

Two 750 ml bottles can have different heights and diameters. Insulation, wall thickness, shape and lid design all affect the outside dimensions. This chart compares liquid capacity; use the product specification to check physical fit.

Are 16.9 oz and 500 ml the same?

They are nearly equivalent. 16.9 US fl oz converts to about 499.8 ml. Labels are often rounded; use the unit and capacity actually printed on your bottle. US fluid ounces measure volume, not weight, and differ from Imperial fluid ounces.

Work out refills for a chosen amount

Divide your chosen volume by bottle capacity. Two liters fills four 500 ml bottles or two 1-liter bottles. Starting with an empty bottle, four full bottles of water means one initial fill and three refills.

Choosing a bottle capacity does not establish how much you personally need to drink. See our method and sources for the separate intake question.
